Artzal is a solution comprised of purified sodium hyaluronate, also known as Hyaluronan. Hyaluronan, a natural chemical found in the body, is typically found in large amounts in joint tissues as well as in the synovial fluid (the fluid that fills the joints). Hyaluronan acts like a lubricant within the body and acts as a shock absorber in synovial fluid. When a person suffers from osteoarthritis, their synovial fluid cannot adequately lubricate their joint

It is recommended that a doctor gives you an injection of Artzal(25mg/2.5rnL) into your knee once a week for 5 weeks, for a total of 5 injections. In addition, it is possible that your doctor may recommend local anesthetic to reduce any possible discomfort.

Artizal’s primary purpose is to relief pain; you may have some of your pain relieved before the 5 weeks of injections are actually completed. However, it is still important to complete the full series of injections. Total amount and duration of pain relief can vary depending on the individual. It is also important to avoid joint stressing activities such as jogging, heavy lifting, long periods of standing, or tennis during the first 48 hours after an injection.

Injections must be injected by a medical and specialist trained practitioner who is medically qualified.

• If package is opened or damaged, do not use Artzal.
• Do not Freeze. Store below 25° C, in the original packaging.
• Do not use after experiation date. Note: Shelf life is 42 months.
• Use a 22-23 gauge needle when injecting into joint.
• Inject full 2.4ml in on knee only. Separate syringe should be used for each knee. Prefilled syringe is for single use only. Syringe must be used immediately once the container has been opened. Discard unused Artzal.
